These ceramic gingerbread men are shaped into a common sleep position. They represent people made homeless by the last 6 years of harsh, ideological driven, austerity cuts to social welfare systems. This devastation to our support systems, forces many in society, who maybe, through ill health or disability, or years of low paid irregular work are forced onto benefits. Benefits which should be and were, a support net in times of trouble, but now are punitive and reduced to starvation levels, and can be withdrawn for weeks, for minimal so called infractions. 250,000 homeless people in England alone, a rise of 30%.
